Change must come from a place of LOVE.

Change must come from a place of LOVE.
In the last 12 months, I've been surrounded by positive and successful mentors and coaches. They have shown me what is to love myself and how I can change peoples lives by first changing my own.

It all starts with my mindset and how I feel about myself.

I’ve never been overly confident, I would walk into a busy girls bathroom and wash my hands without ever looking up at the mirror. I didn't want anyone to think I was full of myself for looking at myself.

This is so silly.
These are my issues.
No one is thinking that.
Girls I know you can relate to this!

When I decided to compete, looking in the mirror, there was no getting away from. You need to know how to move your body to show it off in the best possible way, you need to look confident doing this too.

So that was my first challenge. Getting comfortable looking in the mirror!

I would tell every woman to take a posing class or a dance class or something where you need to move your body and look in the mirror, what this will do for your confidence is incredible. Yes initially it's very uncomfortable, but a few weeks in and you will get in the swing of it.

A bonus you'll know how to hold yourself in the best position for photos at all occasions! No more shying away from the camera or those really unflattering angles of you in photos. Winning!

Self-love is so important.

This is the second thing I struggled with. You can't expect anyone else to love you if you don’t love your self first.

Now I’m not talking super arrogant, oh my god I’m amazing, I’m better than everyone loves yourself.

I'm talking about all the positive things about you that make you a beautiful person.

If you were to compliment someone, the first thing they will say back to you is something negative about it.

An example, your hair looks beautiful today. Oh, thanks, it's actually so dirty I haven’t washed it in days and it could do with a cut.

Rather than just accepting the compliment and saying, you know what, my hair is looking good today. We immediately go to a negative.

Something I’m practising daily with myself and clients is saying one thing you like/love about yourself today.

This is has been an interesting experiment. I initially struggled with this myself, it took me a long time to think of something and when I did I said I really like my hair today. Baby steps :-)

What was interesting to witness, was that the majority of people struggled with this.

They either couldn't think of anything, their body language went immediately into closed and very small or they shared something but made a joke about it or followed it with a negative.

I continued to do this daily, I've learnt a lot about myself. Saying one thing a day I like about myself has actually made me a more positive person, its made me look deep into myself to really start understanding who I am. What good qualities I have and what makes me a beautiful person.

This can be an emotional thing and that's totally normal, you're unlocking doors that you shut closed a long time ago.

But to be truly successful with everything you do, and feel beautiful in your skin is to start loving yourself now.

Happiness comes from within.

Getting to a certain body fat percentage or having visible abs won't make you happy. Loving yourself for all your amazing qualities and imperfections you have now will make you happy and when you do reach all those aesthetic goals you set you won't hate yourself because you've learnt to love yourself and all your crazy, wonderful, weird, beautiful qualities.

So, my challenge to you is to say one thing you like about yourself every day. If you struggle to say it out loud write it down. Say it to yourself. Then take this out to people in your life, your partner, your friends your work colleagues.

Share the love and see the impact it has on your life.

Today I like that I inspire people to be a better version of themselves through my actions and words.
